However, I think the discussion is still interesting, and Reitz has every right to talk about it. If you don't like the subject, you can always go back to "World of Warcraft ROXERZ!" or "How can I ask out my neighbor's daughter - with pics" threads.

For right or wrong, we didn't let there be an open discussion at the time. And after the coming clean and apology, we tried to control the discussion for the sake of the community. If we can't look back, discuss, and learn lessons eight years later, then we have a real problem.

The problem of so many people lacking maturity is always relevant, but not something we can solve in this thread.

She apparently got over her deathly-ill state. Last I heard she was hooked up to all kinds of machines because she'd lost intestines and other stuff. I'm not sure how she went from death-bed to Jeopardy, but apparently she got better I never knew what she looked like, but she looks awfully young in the Jeopardy video. Not sure why she'd want to get involved with an ancient fossil like Dennis if she were so young

How many years ago was it that she was sick? I would think that after a couple years she would either recover or die. Just because she was "hooked up to all kinds of machines" at one point doesn't mean she has to stay like that for life.

When I decided to merge my car with a light pole, I was hooked up to all kinds of fancy machines. I definitely am not hooked up to them anymore and barely even have a scar where my forehead played cheese grater on my windshield.

Relax Nik...not everything is a scam. Even if this one is, who really cares?

i joined because a friend introduced me to the hotdeals forum but i did lurk OT quiet often. seeing some really old names in here and it's bringing back some memories. it's always good to have these types of discussions because not only is it a part of OT history, but being able to talk about shows that you've moved on also.

the forums were much different back then also, people replied because they really had something to contribute to the thread, not because they are trying to hit senior/gold/diamond...whatever member. personally, at this rate, i'll be a lifer when i'm 50/60. anywho, thanks for the post, much appreciated.

The forums have changed a lot. Also consider that back then a large chunk of the people on AT were high schoolers. Now days most seem to be college or post-college. With the maturing of those in the field things just change. I know that for myself back when I joined (~1999/2000 even though my account shows 2001) I could damn near tell you the serial numbers of every part in my desktop. Now days I have to look up what components I even have.
