Can Windows Media Player play VOB files that are on the harddrive?

i have WinDVD installed, but I like to use WMP. If I copy the DVD to my HDD can I just play it off my harddrive like PowerDVD does? The DVD is not encrypted as I'm the one who made it (home video)

I just tried it and it didn't work in WMP10. I'd just try and see if you can. If it doesn't work for you and you just have to play your dvd off your hard drive using WMP, rip it to an iso, with a program like DVD Shrink and then mount it on a virtual drive with DAEMON Tools or a trial version of Alcohol 120%.

Use DVD Decrypter to rip your DVD to your hard drive as an ISO. Use Daemon Tools to mount the ISO and view it using PowerDVD, WinDVD or install this codec to watch it through WMP.

Oh sorry, this is a home movie. Copy the DVD using Nero and burn it to a file (*.nrg). Now mount the file with Daemon Tools and install the codec above to watch it through WMP or you can also use PowerDVD or WinDVD.

I'm thinking maybe WinDVD can read the vob's directly instead of WMP10...Because I know PowerDVD can...

WMP10 can read VOB files straight off the Hard Drive. Mine does for sure.
