Yes. A nice bottle of red with a decent meal and I won't even know I have had a drink in the morning.

Chugging a bottle on an empty stomach them going to bed is another matter however.

Yeah, I realize it's not all sweet, but most of what I like is sweet enough to be a problem in large quantities. At least when compared to hard alcohol alternatives. Maybe sweet is the wrong word though...perhaps 'rich' would be closer to accurate.

Try something like Cava or fino (ok technically that's a sherry but it's close enough) and you won't be complaining about sweetness or richness.

Yeah. Depends on the wine though whether I wake up with a splitting headache though. I drank a whole bottle of chianti over the weekend and woke up without any hangover to speak of.

Personally, I am a champagne fan, but I dislike sweet things. But, I've been known to drink a bottle of red every now and again.
