I can hear it, though I'm only 16...

Everyone plays it round my school to annoy the teachers and see if they can hear it. Some can, some cant. In fact, I have it on my phone

I can hear it at 21. That said, it'd be pretty easy to build a device that detects it.

I'm 18 and could easily hear it, it like, pierces your head. And I seem to be able to hear it better through my left ear.

I hear it easily. I'm 30.

I can also hear my monitor, my Linksys router, and my motherboard when I scroll with my mouse (I don't know why it does that).

Oh please, that's 15KHz. Want something that's actually tough to hear?

16.5KHz. Assuming your speakers can even produce that frequency at all.
Produced courtesy of Goldwave's function evaluator.
They've got a fully functional demo version. Try it out yourself and make your own high frequency whines and other fun noises.

That's like stabbing an icepick in each ear...thank you.

I may have already posted in this thread, I can't remember. lol

A local DJ played a variety of tones that adults theoretically cannot hear. I could hear all of the ones that he played (can't remember which they were, specifically), but they made me feel ill, instantly.

I can hear it, but it's extremely quiet no matter how much I turn it up. I'm twenty years old. Damn that's an annoying sound.

I can hear that too, but it's a lot quieter than the original sound.

It could also just be quieter because speakers are probably not made to accurately reproduce extreme high frequencies, because most of their customers probably wouldn't be able to hear them anyway. No sense investing much R&D money on a product feature that your customers can't perceive.

Man, that noise is annoying.

Age 29.

I'm not sure how they could broadcast that noise on TV or radio. In both cases, the audio is brick-wall filtered at 15 kHz.
