Question Can you identify the sound and the source of this sound I now get at each Windows 10 startup?

Just after loading, Windows 10 began to make a sound at each start (when Windows finishes loading).


It is not a user logon sound (if I don't enter my Windows password, Windows still makes this sound).


It is not a sound from Windows 10 Default sound scheme (not a sound from C:\Windows\Media folder). But if i choose the "No Sounds" scheme, I no longer hear it after the Windows start.


Possibly a coincidence., but it started after I replaced my Nvidia GTX 1060 with a AMD RX 7600 (I used DDU before removing the old GTX 1060).


I checked AMD Adrenalin settings and does not seem to have an option for a boot sound.


What bothers me is not the sound itself, but why it is there. Is it a Windows sound or an application sound? Error sound of some kind?

Those are "Windows Hardware Insert.wav" and "Windows Hardware Remove.wav".

It is neither of those.

It is very close to Windows Hardware Insert on Windows 11 (Pro, not sure if there would be a difference). Tiny bit different timber.

I identified the sound.

Some more details, which initially (when I made this thread) I did not think are relevant:

• I have a monitor with built-in speakers and usually I use the HDMI sound (from the graphics card). Good enough when browsing, etc.
• With the old graphics card (Nvidia GTX 1060), I would get the "Windows Hardware Insert.wav" sound at each boot (when Windows 10 would finish loading). Not sure why.
• After replacing the GTX 1060 graphics card with AMD RX 7600 (at the beginning of this month), I started to get the sound attached in the first post instead of the "Windows Hardware Insert.wav" sound.

I just updated the AMD RX 7600 driver from Adrenalin 23.9.3 (this one was the first Adrenalin driver version installed after I bought the RX 7600) with the newly released Adrenalin 23.10.2.

At first boot after this driver update, I got back the "Windows Hardware Insert.wav" sound.

This is when I realized that the other sound was just the end part of this "Windows Hardware Insert.wav" sound.
For some reason, with Adrenalin 23.9.3, the first part of the sound was not played / not audible, so it appeared to be a different sound (and not from the list of the Windows 10 notification sounds).
