Can you use old boxes to ship stuff?

I have a bunch of old moving boxes I got from a store and was wondering if I could use the boxes to ship stuff.

The reason I ask is because most of the boxes have company names/logos on them and other stuff. Anyone done this before?

I work for FedEx. We're not supposted to take anything with a lid because it's not secure. AFAIK there's no policy on logos, people ship stuff in diaper boxes sometimes. As long as it's properly sealed and packed it's not a problem. I wouldn't know about USPS or other shipping locations though.

Do it all the time, I used to scratch out the labels and company names, but then I got lazy and figured out you dont need to.

Go out back to ABC, and get some boxes that they keep the booze in. Those are especially sturdy because they're meant for holding glass.

As far as I know, you just want to be sure to cover or remove any old shipping labels (UPS bar codes, etc.). Company logos and such should not matter.

Sure you can. As long as it's sturdy, beats the heck out of spending money for shipping supplies - it's even environmentally friendly
Don't worry abou the logos, just cross out / cover up any previous shipping related labels.

If they have ORM-D labels on them, DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL!!

If you try and cover that particular hazmat labeling up, the shipping company can and will toss your shipment.
Other than that, all other boxes are a go:thumbsup:

It's a good idea to mark off or use a sticker to cover any company logos. It's not unknown for boxes to be sorted without first looking at the address destination label. That could cause major delays in getting your package delivered or even misdelivered.

No.

It is illegal and immoral to re-use boxes for shipping. All cardboard (and other recyclable material) boxes should be discarded after single use.

you can reuse boxes except if they are marked from one of the major carriers and you are shipping on another.

However, it's easy to deny a claim on a reused box.
