<< With all this offering of praise and tribute, I would like to salute one sadly overlooked group of service workers ? the air-traffic controllers and airport crews, from coast-to-coast, in Canada.
Collectively and without one incident, they managed to clear and safely land, within Canada, 500+ airliners from American air space.
A logistic nightmare for sure ? but they did it, and they did it with an extraordinary effort.
Well done folks! Well done!

Yeah, all the American flights clogged up the YVR (Vancouver) like you wouldn't believe. The local radio stations and television stations organized a relief effort so that the stranded travellers would have a place to stay, which was local hotels and even the homes of people in Vancouver. We would call a number if we had an extra room or space for the strandies.
NOW do you Americans know where Canada is? People like IwentSouth make me regret how friendly our country is and how I donated what was in my Paypal account to the relief effort.
