My bro is at school at the university of Ottawa and he took this picture.

It's a Sherman that fought in Northwest Europe in 1944...

It is outside the War Museum. Funny thing is is that the main gun and turret is pointing directly at the Kuwaiti Embassy that is being built. The workers want the museum to move the tank because they are uncomfortable having the main gun pointed at them.

As to the tank silverpig, LMAO

I've been saying it since I was a little kid. My parents used to get mad at me when I said "eh"... it wasn't "proper" english, and not considered a good response

Certainly the armament on the tank was deactivated before the tank was moved into the actual position. And I suppose the engine was also broken, so that nobody could steal the tank and race thru the city (Me too I want to race a Sherman )

I was in the Canadian Army in the early 70's and was on a training exercise in central Alberta where a lot of old british tanks from the 50's(Centurions I think) were stored and being parted out to the Israelis and we really had NO operational tanks in the Canadian Armed Forces including europe.

Well they decided to get two of those old hulks running and show us what they could do including firing their main guns(105's I think) and I was fairly close to them when they pulled up out in the training area and they fired a couple rounds and then started maneuvering while firing, well of course, the only two tanks in all of Canada ran into each other!

My personal weapon was older than me, our section 3/4 ton truck was older than me and when I was a machine gunner, my general purpose machine gun was built in 1945 by the Singer Sewing machine company!

When we did Nato work, we did have the best cold weather gear and rations though, including army rum rations, 1 ounce per man per day!!

We're just slow starters up here!

Well, the tank is well protected. If anyone tried to attack it, they would end up hitting Kuwait's embassy and then the diplomats would bring terror across the land....
