The fam just got back from visiting relatives in Calgary, Alberta (in Canada for some of you ignorant folks.) While there, they headed up to Lake Louise, Banff, and some glacier place. Now let me just say that my dad is horrible with a camera. He sucks at taking pictures. Never has the settings right, never bothers to learn proper techniques, never keeps his hand steady, can never frame a shot, etc. Keep this in mind when you see these pics. Needless to say, I was simply astounded. And jealous/mad cause I didn't get to go this year!

That's pretty far from Vancouver (12 hour drive I think) but we have some nice places here also.

not that far realy, a good weekend trip away
a coworker of mine has family near Vancouver and he says its absolutely gorgeous there

I'll be moving out there in the fall. I'm not going directly to Banff, but an hour away to Invermere B.C.
Certainly one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Canon S230...the really tiny one (3 megapixel, 2x zoom.) Actually I've heard that images come out even better on the S400, which is 4 megapixel and 3x optical zoom. If you're in the market for a digital camera I highly recommend the S400 (about the same size as the S230, rugged magnesium shell casing too.)
