Someone on a killing rampage isn't necessarily engaging in terrorism. Terrorism is about intent. If the intent and reason behind the killings is to instill fear into a community or coerce them into providing him with something, then he is a terrorist.

If he's killing just for the sake of killing or because he's bent in the head, then he's not a terrorist, even if fear is a byproduct of his actions.

Well the question of terrorism isn't settled just yet but there are some indications that he has some of the same ideas (pathology) as Timothy McVeigh and I don't think anyone would deny that dirt bag was a terrorist.

The thing I fear is that there are a lot, no make that a LOT of guys in the USA that are so wrapped up in there anti-everything game and being fed hate by the radio, television and internet and sooner or later we could easily see much more of this kind of thing. And I don't just mean offshoots from the tea party though they'd be high on the list.

There are a lot of folks pushing for another revolution and the next one will be bloody...

The thing I fear is that there are a lot, no make that a LOT of guys in the USA that are so wrapped up in there anti-everything game and being fed hate by the radio, television and internet and sooner or later we could easily see much more of this kind of thing. And I don't just mean offshoots from the tea party though they'd be high on the list.

Difference appears to be that the "fed" is and has been right-wing for over a decade. It's been described as one of the most right-wing governments in Canada in a while. Tea Party ideas and Fox News types have been crossing the border in the past few years too. Yet, I saw some of his Twitter/Facebook posts in news stories ranting about the "fed".

It's actually not that hard to get a gun here -- the local Bass Pro Mills shop is wall to wall with guns. There are certain restrictions, but you're generally allowed to have them -- not sure about "assault weapons". I briefly looked into it a while ago: I need to sign up for a gun club, register, and wait 6-8 weeks.

The gun control laws in Canada are actually much more less strict than people think....a lot less strict than lots of states in the USA.
