I've lived in North Vancouver for a year.

Gorgeous outdoors stuff - kayaking, mountain biking, snowboarding, you name it.

Mild summers and mild winters, but it rains a lot in winter.

What I didn't like about it is the slower pace and less metropolitain attitude. Very friendly, but I prefer the pace of Toronto and the availability of everything close by. Plus, the traffic in Vancouver is even worse than Toronto, which is bad enough. Unfortunately, you lose the outdoors stuff to a great extent in Toronto.

The cutest gals are in Montreal, hands down, unless you really prefer the granola Vancouver look. Dunno about the guys. The best dressed guys though are in Montreal too.

Elita1 - Hey! Don't lump Vancouver with the rest of Canada!

While the East is frozen over with 20 feet of snow ... we're a nice 18 degrees. We like to say that we can go skiiing in the morning and play beach volleyball in the afternoon. I've done it many times.

Actually, I had a friend over at McGill and she was freezing her butt off and wishing she was back in the Lower Mainland (Vancouver) so myself and friends went to Mount Seymour, went spring skiing and took the handycam with us. It was a beautiful clear and sunny day sometime in March, I think. This was years ago so I don't remember the particular month but anyways ... we went down to West Spanish Banks out by UBC and played Volleyball for another couple of hours.

All the while the East was mired in a major ice storm or something like that!

Sent her the videotape and she was pissed!

I like to watch the weather report and see how often the weatherperson makes a comment about how bad the weather is back East.

They don't call us LotusLand for nothin'.

But of course, it wouldn't be Vancouver without high taxes, traffic, expensive housing and the like. You win some ... you lose some.
