Upped my dilaudid dose today to 4 mg instead of 2, and changed my fentanyl patch to 25 micrograms instead of wearing 2 12.5 microgram ones. Might have to go to 50 mg they say if this doesn't do the trick. Still, I'm pretty lucid and not drugged up so it must be helping the pain.
Lost 29 lbs since this all began, 13 in the past week. I'm supposed to put at least 2500 calories in me every day. I went to sonic to get a MEDIUM brownie blast and damn, this thing has no end. No wonder we are all a bunch of fatties..
So I'm done with the partial sigmoidoscopy. No butt cancer, I have a clean bill of health down in my nether region.
Try the osmotic laxatives like Miralax (or cheaper off brand equivalent) along with fiber supplement or fiber-rich foods, rather than using stimulant laxatives daily (you might need to add a stimulant laxative a couple times per week). And also eat healthy, minimize the inflammation-promoting foods like grains, sugars, processed meats, fast food, etc.

I do have some good news through all of this. My radiation oncologist met with me today and said the tumor is decreasing in size as they expected, so the radiation and chemo are working and the cancer is going away.

This has been a really rough morning for me. I came into work and will be here for a couple hours, but am quickly fading. My throat hurts. I just took 8 mg of dilaudin so lets see if it kicks in soon. Also have a headache that won't go away. I only got 5 hours of sleep last night (i went to bed late), so its my own fault. I think a good 6 hours of sleep today would do wonders for me and I plan on crashing when I get home. I'm still having trouble eating. I keep dropping weight and the feeding tube is going to happen when they weigh me today, I just know it. I don't know my options but I plan on telling them no and seeing what they say. I know its in my best interest, but I am just sick of the surgeries, however minor they are.
So I'm having a little slag pity party today. Sorry for being such a downer but I'm entitled to a few of these days I think.
Major OUCH! It's dark just reading it.I hit rock bottom after my bowel & colon removal surgery. Three bags hanging off me, 32 staples in my stomach recouperating at home trying to stay alive, those days were dark.
