6 weeks of chemo and radiation, starting next week or the week after. Might need to have a feeding tube installed as it is fairly swollen and my throat will probably be hyper sensitive.

Keep the tube clean, flush it out a lot, otherwise the sugars can form strings, and take down *EVERYTHING* they tell you to do. Sometimes it can cause indigestion and it sucks but do it.

EDIT: I'm at the point where its extremely painful to eat. I'm eating soups and yogurt stuff now. I can't have burgers, chicken, anything rough that might be difficult to swallow. It's just too painful. My relief consists of sitting in the hot tub, taking hot showers, and sleeping with a heat pad on my shoulder/neck area.

Getting the tube inserted BEFORE you need to have it is a lot better than not being able to swallow and losing tons more weight. PT will work with you to help keep your swallowing function intact.
