Cancer.. i have it

Cancer has not spread past my tongue/neck area. Just my tongue and a couple lymph nodes but they barely have any trace in them. 7 week chemo/radiation regimen, starting on the 18th. My chemo is once every 3 weeks, but its a day long. Going to not go with the feeding tube for now.

Glad to hear it has not spread. Hopefully you can find some peace during your struggle. I found some comfort in Jesus and asked to stay around a little longer. I then starting getting ideas that helped me cope and survive.

While I was getting the Humira injections that were also a four hour session, I enjoyed the free cookies and juice, comfy chairs, warm blanket and Benadryl injection that makes you feel really comfortable.

There isn't a single statistically significant, peer reviewed, and scientifically legitimate study that has shown that juicing does anything for cancer.

Or diet in general. Fiber + sugar + vitamin c does not a diet make.

Got my chemo port installed yesterday and a fentanyl patch which seems to work pretty well. Only woke up two times in the middle of the night and had a more restful sleep.

That addiction thing must realy be dependent upon the person or I totally don't feel things the same way as others. After my last surgery went through about 90 oxy and once the pain stopped just didn't take anymore.

I work in Radiation Oncology so I know first hand how tough the treatment will be. Unfortunately in your case, it's already painful to eat and it will only get worse. You're going to lose a lot of weight; and you'll hate going for your treatments somewhere around week 4.

That being said, I've seen the results and I'd not hesitate to have it myself should I need it. Do your best to keep your weight up by eating higher calorie food and get plenty of rest. Listen to your body. Also, don't do any strange diets; they don't help.

Certainly it's more potent, which is why it's dosed much, much lower. The medium range fentanyl patches would be equivalent to 35-45 mg of IV morphine daily or 100-120mg of oral oxycodone daily. Legit narcotics.

I think that when you have a potentially terminal disease with severe pain which requires specialized pain relief, the chance of addiction should be very low in the list of things that you should be concerned about. But any aspect of pain relief you're concerned about should be discussed with the doctor who is managing that part of your treatment.
