My wife just got me a wrap-around splint for my stomach, and it's making all the difference in the world.

Nope. They don't give out meds anymore. During my recovery they gave me a small bottle of percocet to last for two weeks (I didn't take any though because I hate pain meds).

In the two days afterward, that area feels weird. It feels like having a gas bubble and I have to burp, but the gas bubble is under my right rib cage. Very odd. It's normal because there is a cavity in there from the tube, but it's an unusual sensation.

Who doesn't give out meds anymore? The best part of being "sick" is the opioids.

When I had cancer in 2015, they consistently asked me to state my pain level on a scale of 1-10 and then prescribed so much stuff I still have some left in a bag somewhere...

They're REALLY cracking down on opioids. They're only giving low-dose liquids to take home now, and are pushing acetaminophen with ibuprofen for pain management instead of opis. Damn drug abusers are ruining it for everyone.

Glad you are doing well. And I can sympathize re: the JP tube. I had lymph node surgery 20+ years ago and had a JP tube placed under my arm. I still remember that bastard being pulled out of my armpit. Holy sh!t it hurt. The doc took it out at the two week follow up. As he was checking out the surgical sites he started asking me about baseball and what team I liked. We were chatting back and forth about it when he yanked the JP tube out. I damn near passed out and I'm pretty sure I cursed him to the pit of hell.
