1 and done for me. I mean I got through 90% of the can, but only through the use of copious amounts of accouterments (lemon, sriracha, crackers, creme fraiche, avocado, salt were all available). I treated them somewhere between an oyster and smoked salmon.

They basically tasted like a piss poor version of smoked scallops, with a grittier texture similar to the insides of overcooked mussels.

Pass.

The texture of canned smoked oysters always reminded me somewhat of liver. And I love liver.

Smoked baby clams, on the other hand, are chewy; more like chicken gizzards.

Bought a bottle of Crystal the other day. Only one of the local grocery stores carries it, so little wonder I've never heard of it. Cheap, at something like $2 for a 12oz bottle.

Not bad. Subtle differences from Louisiana brand, maybe not as vinegary. Good, but overall it's nothing special. I made a big pot of chili yesterday and threw in several ounces. Gave it a nice kick in addition to some tanginess.

I like the stuff but I love oysters, raw or cooked. But I don't understand how it's so cheap.
