Cannot email JPEGS???

I am pretty much an advanced pc user and I am baffled. I am having problems emailing jpegs as attachments. Specifically jpegs I have edited or taken with my digital camera. My upload starts fine then at some point my upload stops, and destroys my dial-up connection(it will no longer function until I disconnect and reconnect. I have tried almost everything with inconsistant results. I have tried turning all jpeg compression off, turning dial-up compression off, different email software (netscape -vs- outlook).....you name it. I can however download a jpeg and send it if it has never been saved by one of my editors. All of my editors are well known software titles. Any ideas?

Just out of curiousity, have you tried zipping your jpeg? You say that you can send other jpegs if you don't edit them, what are the difference in the file sizes you are trying to send. It's possible that your e-mail server doesn't allow for uploads over a certain size. At first glance this would seem to be more the case than anything else, as it's happening with several different e-mail applications. Try cropping a small part of one of your jpegs, and creating a new file with it, and try sending that. if it goes, it's definately an attachment limitaion. Many ISP's don't want large attachments being fed through their servers as they can eat bandwidth and disk space, and unfortunately this is the consequence.

Again try the cropping, and see if that works.

I have zipped the images and have sent images under 100kb and they still did not go. I even called my ISP and asked them and they had no idea. OH yeah, one other thing, a friend I was trying to send a jpeg to came over, put the image on a floppy, reopened it on my computer(was fine), took it home and opened it, half was garbled. I have a small network set up here at home and I tried opening it from other computers (fine). Then copied it to the other computers and opened it (still fine). Got me.
