"Canon 5D Mark II ? available from June 2008
The EOS 5D Mark II with full-frame sensor with 16 megapixels.
6.5 frames per second and innovative DIGIC III processor.
Small, inconspicuous, light and manageable but still robust, weather-sealed construction."
This must be another common Canon thing happening again; before the official announcement of the product, it appears on Canon official websites in some random countries then disappears, only to be confirmed later.
16 megapixels: Though I wish it'd have more megapixels, it'd be silly just to stuff more megapixels on the current 5D sensor technology. Given how Canon has been improving their sensors as seen in the case of 1Ds Mk3, I suspect it'll probably have about the same actual photon size of current 5D with extra 3.2 megapixels.
6.5 fps: That's quite a boost from the current 3fps of 5D!
weather-sealed construction: Would be nice if it's fully weather sealed but I doubt it. I think it'd be partly weather sealed like 40D.
AF: Though it's not mentioned in the leaked spec, I belive it'll have all cross type AF points as seen in 40D.
Anway, As a current 5D user, I really hope 5D Mk2 comes out with the spec. mentioned above and I'm sure it'll probably do so as the competition in the market has been quite tight. The only concern is the price. 5D came out with a price tag of $4000 back then and it was considered a crazy bargain due to the fact all the FF dslrs were a lot more expensive. No longer is the case as Nikon D3, with all those ultra specs, is only $5000. Given how D3 is priced and Sony is coming out with a FF camera soon, I think 5D MK2 will be around $3500 top.

Though it sounds strange how the book is already announced even before the product is out, Wiley has been publishing manuals about 6 month after the release of the brand new camera. Given that, it's not much suprising how the book is already planned and announced at the point. However, what's suprising is that Wiley is taking pre-orders prior to Canon mentioning anything.
