It's an Officemax.com promotion. That's not to say you can't or shouldn't feel moral outrage. Heck, I printed out the coupon and took it to 7-11 for $50 off $200 of nachos. No go there either. Outrageous.

The Best Deal From a Reputable Vendor: The best I found was Dell. They've got 10% off digital cameras this weekend. There may also be a $10 off $100 stackable floating around (I can't find it but others have mentioned it). Then I think Dell has free ship on >$99.
Even if you only get the 10% off (off the $249.95 reg. price), that ain't bad.

The rest of this thread seems to be hand waving, smoke/mirrors/naked emperors....

(By the way, my net search showed several complaints about executivecamera.com aka $200 A40, so BEFORE YOU POST A VENDOR HOW ABOUT BEING A CUSTOMER AT LEAST ONE TIME - or at least disclaiming that you actually have no knowledge of them. Most of us can do a pricewatch ourselves if we want to be blind shanked.)

Hmm.. trust me .. 9 out 10 times, an OM manager will honor it, since it is a coupon, and just the compeitor is officemax.com
that doesn't mean they won't take the coupon man. First time purchasing only ? HA .. just call in more till one of the CSR that will take it ..

I ordered on 10/28, about $213. The camera got delivered a few days later, but there was no free CF card with it. This is annoying because I specifically asked the CSR i ordered with if the free 64MB CF card would come with my order. He sounded like a dumbass, so after I got off with him, i called back and asked another CSR to confirm this. He assured me that they would send it along with the camera. So anyway, I got the camera minus free CF card, so I called back and got a real nice lady that said they would send it out to me.... Still hasn't been sent to me though. I called back, and now another lady told me they needed my CC# to send the card out and thats why it was never sent. She said its on backorder now till like dec 7. It's so annoying to have that crappy little 8MB card only.

I ordered mine without the free flash card last Tuesday. Because of the holiday delivery was slow and I haven't received it yet. I called offficemax to PM to their new ad and throw in the flashcard. They were very cool about it. Should be receivng both the cam and the card tomorrow.

If anyone else is in the same boat. PM policy is 14 days after purchase.

on the phone with officemax customer service to get the free 64MB CF card.. is there a officemax ad this week? i checked my sunday paper and didnt see it.

not sure if it's going to show up as an order since my canon a40 was already delivered last wednesday (ordered last saturday)... the person i spoke to said she would send the info to the wherehouse to have it sent out. i guess ill call back tomorrow to check up on it.

I cant decide whether or not to get this one or the Fuji Finepix 2650. Both will come out to about $200 with 64mb memory.

I saw it listed in my Sunday paper. Since I have a S330 I think I will hold off.

Yes. There is an ad in my local paper. you can check online for the ads.

They should honor it.

I'd go with the Canon. The Fuji uses the xD memory card which is new and still expensive. My father in law has the FinePix 2600 which uses SM and it's a nice camera but I've never heard anyone rave about a DigiCam like the A40 before. Price is right and the quality is above par for the price.

scored one but the manager wasnt goign to let me use the coupon bec it was 249.99 not 250...she sold me 1 year warranty and actually suggested i drop the camera in 11 months bec they wont be able to replace it...

I'm debating getting the A40 for 200 AC or Kodak DX4900 for 253 AC/PM. The kodak only comes with a 8 MB CF card, so I'd have to buy a CF card for about 40 bucks or so. All prices include shipping but not California sales tax.

Anyone have an opinion on whether the extra $95 is worth it for a 4.0 MP camera. The Kodak has gotten mediocre reviews whereas the reviews for the A40 are excellent. I'm not a photographer, professional or otherwise. I basically need the camera to be a point and shoot, but I'm concerned that I won't be able to print quality 8x10's with just 2 MP.

Any replies are greatly appreciated.

PHL1365 - Normally yes the extra $95 is worth it but trust me ALL KODAK CONSUMER DIGICAMS SUCK BEYOND BELIEF!!!, they cannot compare to their Canon, Fuji, Nikon & Olympus competitors.

Funny that this popped up again - mine just arived (exactly two weeks after ordering). They sent me the paper clips I ordered to get over $250 the next day, the CF about a week ago, and finally the camera. Thank god they got those paper clips to me!

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, the A40 deal fell through for me since I can no longer get it on OM's website. It's about 40 miles to the nearest BM store, and I don't want to deal with the chance they won't take a coupon.

So I went ahead and ordered the DX4900. Total price is 399.98 - 50.00 coupon + 27.12 tax - 115.03 PM - 8.91 tax on PM - 50.63 MSN Rewards = 202.53 shipped.

I'm sure you're probably right about the quality of the DX4900, but I think it will be sufficient for our needs.

BTW, I PM'd to OD
