So OM didnt calculate the 50 dollar off 200 coupon when doing the pricematch? Also i thought OM did a 115% pricematch. Since the A40 isnt available, i'm thinking of pricematching the Fuji 2600.

I thought about the 2600 also but it only shoots in ISO 100. The A40 does ISO 50, 100, 200 and 400.
My A40 should be here tomorrow from Crutchfield .

The A40 also accepts teleconverter and close-up lens, so you have some upgradability.

isnt this camera the same as the A20 just with added video mode? I would be interested in the differences because I have an A20.

Just received mine today. Very nice camera. Only took a couple of pictures so far, but I am satisfied. Lots of features so I suppose I have to study the manual. Bought mine at Crutchfield since OM was OOS.

After having used the camera for a few days now, I'm very impressed with it. The movie mode turned out to be a lot better than I initially thought. I've uploaded some sample photos if anyone wants to see. The 800x600 shots were resized from 1600x1200 so they aren't indicative of a normal shot. Had to use a bit of compression also, so if you notice any jpeg artifacts that's why.

Apparently not. Doesn't seem like they've taken the coupon into account for anyone who's attempted to PM.

Wish they'd get more in stock so more people could jump on this. It seems like an excellent camera for its price.

Local stores may still ahve some. I picked up the last one in a B&M Office Max today using the $50 off internet coupon. I simply called ahead and explained to the manager that it was out of stock on the internet site. He said he would hold the camera for me and allow me to use the coupon even though it clearly states online only. Of course, I don't expect a price match against an internet site like others got. From the pics and reviews I've seen, this will is the best camera I can get my dad at the last minute for fathers day considering it's under $270 out the door. I looked at several under $500, but they either didn't use compact flash, or there wasn't enough difference in features to justify a much higher price. I have the G2 myself, so I'm looking forward to comparing photos.

got mine yesterday from a local officemax. they had 3 left when i called yesterday. they dont get very much business, so if anyone is looking for an a40, the winchester, va omax has 2 left. this is actually a bday present for my mom, but so far i dont think she likes it. shes used to our old sony one with the big lcd and blurry pictures. oh well, she will have to learn to like this one because i'm loving it so far, and i will be the one who will actually use it

Get this. It is for A10/A20, so natually it fits for A30/A40 as well. A lot of good NiMH batteries at here. They are not the cheapest but the best. MAHA rechargeables (at least 1600mAH, I would choose 1800mAH ones) are very good, also their award-winning chargers. For a cheap (and with world-wide voltage) charger, get Kodak K200 with 4 1600mAH batteries (around 20$ shipped from )a reputable company

I like the camera but I dun really like the part about the batteries.. kinda bulky and heavy when you have that. In my opinion, it gets tedious sometimes...

But quality and ergonomic design makes the camera a great one.

I am currently looking for the Casio qv4000 4MP camera, which is probably one of the best cameras out there for the price. Outside is the normal casio body, but inside houses the Canon G2 structure, including the lens and all features. Casio improved on some things like battery power which only Sony could top, but Sony's media sucks. As in the G2, the casio also can do panoramic shots, and supports type 1 and 2 compact flash. I cant find this camera anywhere though, so my next option is the new minolta s404 which is one sweet peice of hardware. Its also a 4MP camera, but has regular batteries so you dont have to pay another $100 for a Li Ion battery, and carries a 4x zoom unlike 98% of all cameras out there who have 3x or less.

Interesting comparison between QV4000 and G2. Over at dpreview there is a review of QV4000 and comparison shots with G2. In conclusion .... G2 has better colors ... but QV4000 is 200$ less ...

I had the printed $50 off $250 coupon in hand but called ahead to make sure they'd take it. The Council Bluffs, IA store said they would accept it, but I'd have to buy their $40 two year extended warranty if I wanted to use the coupon. I said no thanks and called the closest Omaha OM.
