It's actually only a kit (likely a cd or something?) and then when you get it, if you WANT msn crapola, then you can register....

So, in essence, I get a printer + 2 items for the circular file (trash)?

This is an excellent printer... Buying another one for $9.98 would be cheaper than replacing the ink cartridge. BTW, you can get two USB cables for ~$6 from Sam's club.

This might be a silly question: Why am I bothering to fill out 'online' rebates if I still have to physically mail something in?

Seems BJC-3000 model has been discontinued. It wasn't listed in www.canon.com. I remember this is the one just came out November last year or it's 4000 model?

For those concerned with rebate issues when buying the same item as a previous promotion:

I have done this MANY times with Staples. Just make sure you only make one purchase for each range of valid dates.

In other words, this one is valid 2/15 - 2/19. They could CARE LESS about a purchase (or rebate promotion) from 2 months ago.

The only store I have run into an issue with this so far is Circuit City, as they very often have extended promotion dates.

lundog22, It's true that there is not much change from year to year. But they do have some improvements. Besides, print heads gets wored out overtime. I just wish someone could find some reviews for this printer. I love canon printers because of their auto on/off feature (I think it's patented). But I hate the price of their ink...

so an extra PM from the 99.99 price would essentially give
you another $40! net gain = $30 they pay you to take the damn
printer already!
