Best Buy is advertising the Canon BJC-6000 printer for only $29.99 after $100.00 instant savings and a $50.00 mail-in rebate!

Update: I just returned from Best Buy, when I purchased the printer I received a mail-in form for a $20 gift card!

Update #2: Upon closer inspection, the mail-in form for the $20 gift card states that the printer must cost $99 or more for it to be valid. Also, I went back to Best Buy to purchase another BJC-6000; they were out but were offering rain checks!

i can confirm that here in southern california. not sure about the gift card but its a damn great deal.

i have the same printer, and i'd say its ok for home, or great for students. black text is ok, color is decent. photos are also decent, but a little on the soft side. the unit can be easily refilled and performs well if you can find good ink. on the other hand, it does consume ink quickly and mysteriously performs many cleanings, even after every single print for me - haven't confirmed that yet. also the unit is fairly loud. but for the price the unit can't be beat. my rebate even arrived within only about 2 months i believe (which is good for rebates).

HOWEVER, for business, a slightly more critical environment, or for very nice photos you wanna send to grandma, you should definitely stick with HP, NO DOUBT. hope that helps. grab these while you still can, and good lookin out CollegeGuy =)

I am using a bjc - 3000. I also get these strange cleaning clycles each time I turn it on and then when I turn if off. anyone else notice this. Is this normal? if not is there a way to set it not to do that.

I have to agree with misterj that this is a printer best suited for home. On the otherhand I find the print quality excellent (text), photography-wise it's not the best (but at this price who cares?). It still rated on the the top 10 printers by PC World (#3). I bought this guy two years ago and I love it, my friends bought it too after looking at the quality of the text. I would have to say this deal is very hot considering I bought this printer then for the final price...move over one decimal to the right.

I have the BJC-3000. I haven't had any of "mysterious cleanings" that were described. It's been running great since I got it about 3-4 months ago. I used to have a Canon BJC-4400 that did routine cleanings and gobbled up ink very quickly.

However, I was thinking about getting the BJC-6000 for $30 at BB. If the printer works better than my 3000, I'll use if. If not, I'll just use the ink cartridges in the 3000 (it looks like the same for both).

Where do you get the rebate form for this printer? Other sites said that you can get it directly from Canon web site but I haven't been able to find it

I just bought one myself. I got the last one at my local BB.

One thing that ticks me off is that the box says USB and network compatible, but you need to go buy a kit to make it USB compatible. It does not have the connectors on the back of the printer. Beware.

But this is a great deal. I will be replacing my Lexmark 1100 when it runs out of ink. The ink cartridge alone for the Lexmark is about the same price, (after rebate), as this printer!! It doesn't make sense to buy an ink cartridge.

Get it even cheaper. Best Buy price without the rebate = $79.99. Staples has it listed for a little over $180, so call staples and get it pricematched. Then use a $25.00 off coupon, use the rebate, and final price is $5.

Staples has just the regular 100% pricematch, so the price would be the same as bestbuy if you didn't use the staples coupon

Staples is up to their old crap. You can't price match the Canon BJC-6000 any more because their computer system is automatically changing all orders to a different printer, the S450 COLOR BUBBLEJET. It does this after the order is placed so now I have to refuse shipment when it gets here.

And what the heck is an s450? - I guess I'll research that one.

Just answered my own question. Looks like a little better printer. Maybe the CSR will let it go on thru but I doubt it.

The CSR hasn't called me back yet but I will cancel order anyway because there doesn't appear to be any rebates for the S450.
The S450 would probably be a good deal for $59 bucks or so but I've got several high end printers and I sure don't need another one.
I'll let you know what the CSR says.
