So that links to a Canon T3i, a fine camera a few years ago, but I'm not sure what the point of buying it today would be.

The more up-to-date Canon SL1 is selling at the exact same price, or if you want the articulated LCD the T5i is an extra $100.

Both have a much better liveview AF system, come with the update 18-55mm STM which has quieter internal focusing when used with video, a new ISP supporting more burst shots and better high ISO performance (though still behind Sony/Nikon.)

Unless you're getting a much better price than the amazon listing you linked, I wouldn't consider it.

I get the feeling that both the SL1 and T5i are going to be discontinued soon.

Their price has been cut at my local stores and there have been sales running most of last month. I can't get the T5i body only version easily at one store anymore. T6i coming in spring?

I wouldn't mind some clearance sales on the SL1, my wife *really* likes mine, so picking up a second one on the cheap would be a happy thing.

Though she really wants the white.

It's not white, but 6AVE (Very reputable) is selling Canon SL1 w/ 18-55mm Lens for $486 on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191149464365

No, it was started by a new poster asking a question in poor English about buying a T3i with a link to an Amazon sale.

I have a feeling the poster got removed for spam.
