Sounds too good to be true, can't find it for less than 750 anywhere else

If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Stores like these run bait and switch scams. Go ahead and try ordering it, and you'll get a phone call that day or the next day with pressure to buy accessories and an extended warranty, for a LOT more money than it would cost anywhere else, and when you say "no thanks" they will either tell you the item is out of stock, or is the non-US model.

Considering it is based in New York city, this is the most likely case. We unfortunately have a number of grey market vendors with low ball pricing techniques. Most consumers, however, know to stay away (save the tourists, who typically have no clue).

Yep. And then after they sell the item to you, that's when they start adding in all those extras such as the power cord, usb cable, software, lens cover, manual, battery, flash card, etc... Everything that normally comes inside the box. But with them, they're all sold separately. And by the time you finish buying all those accessories, you end up paying the same as retail, if not more.

Don't you just love how those scammers operate?

you'll want to call canon to see if they are an authorized dealer. if not, no warranty for you. you will need their business address and zip for canon to check. when i talked to the canon csr, i didn't have the address so he could not verify the business, but he did say that he had not heard of them.

also, staples would not price match. corporate had written up that usaphotonation is not an authorized dealer of anything. just repeating what the csr at staples told me.

anyone check out the shipping of the camera? whoa...

there's nothing wrong with grey market, the warranties are still honored, but this seems to be too cheap to be grey market

According to the description the power adapter, software, and cables are included. I'm not sure as to what they could make you get, especially since the lense is also included.

Actually I dont see a battery, and they have one listed in the accessories for $99.

That may be the case, but I'm just reporting what the CSR at Canon informed me of. According to the CSR, if they are not authorized, the warranty will not be honored.

Still no address, so I did not verify.

DON'T BUY PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY. I PLACED MY ORDER LAST TUESDAY (7//04) FOR CANON 10D WITH CANON BATTERY GRIP AND ARRANGED 3-5 DAYS GROUOND DELIVERY. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED MY ORDER BUT NO SHIPMENT. SO I CALLED THE COMPANY (PHONE BUSY ALL DAY) AND COULDN'T GET A HOLD OF ANYONE. SENT EMAIL MESSAGE AND POLITELY ASK WHEN CAN I EXPECT OR PRODUCTS? A FEW HOURS LATER, ONE OF THE SALES REP CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT COME WITH ANYTHING, NO BATTERY, NO BATTERY CHARGER, NO MANUAL, NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. HE ALSO ASKED ME TO PURCHASE WARRANTY FROM HIS COMPANY AT $150/YR. WHICH I DECLINED. HE WAS FRUSTRATED FOR NOT BE ABLE TO MILK ME WITH ACCESSORIES PURCHASE AND TOLD ME THAT MY PRODUCT WON'T BE SHIPPED UNTIL 4-6 WEEKS LATER SINCE IT'S A GREY MARKET PRODUCT AND THEY DON'T HAVE IT IN STOCK EVEN THOUGH ON THEIR WEBSITE IT LISTED AS AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE DELIVERY.

THIS COMPANY IS A CROOK. I PLAN TO REPORT THIS FRAUDULENT PRACTICE WITH STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND FCC.
