Expires 3/28

Onecall for me right now is showing $937, before $25 rebate. Prices seem to be fluctuating a lot.

DSLR's are basically higher-performance digital cameras in virtually every aspect. Speed of shooting, photo quality, lens options, customizability, clarity, you name it. I disagree with "if you don't know, then don't buy one." Now is a GREAT time to learn about all the advantages a DSLR gives you. Also check out
Digital Photography Review for TONS of information on all the high-end cameras out and coming out. The Rebel is a great camera to introduce yourself to the DSLR world and one that you will appreciate and use for a long time.

Virtually every aspect, huh? Does it mean that this time Canon managed to make a camera smaller than my grotesquely huge nuts?

In case you haven't figured it out, they're not very big, and even still SLR users want a camera in that size/weight range for very specific reasons. These aren't meant for hurrrr hurrrrrr family pic-a-nic get-togethers.

----

Read the reviews on photo.net and other photography sites, you will see that EVERY SINGLE camera/photo/video shop in Brooklyn and almost every one in the New York City area have HORRIBLE customer service practices, which include the previously mentioned bait&switch tactics, to flat out shenanigans about being suddenly "out of stock" of the item when you don't buy their accessory packages and even selling grey-market equipment as US-market items (which in reality grey market equipment does not have a USA warranty). Grey-market equipment is generally okay if you're buying say, bulk film or a film SLR, but DSLRs are very complicated pieces of equipment, and don't have nearly the refinement and reliability of film cameras, so you are taking a real big gamble buying this kind of equipment if it ever needs to be serviced.

Buy smart. There's a reason they are selling at a price two-thirds of the price that most stable and reputable resellers sell at.

Sure, but BBB has no enforcement authority. A company willing to treat its customers like crap won't feel too threatened by BBB's public condemnation.

learn it is a "gray market" model with no warranty from canon.
Canon is the only company that cover gray market products under its international warranty. Just FYI.

plus they would just close up shop after massive amounts of complaints and open up shop under a new name.

No guarantees of a valid warranty for anything purchased on ebay. For something like this, I'd pay an extra $75 or $100 for that peace of mind.

That's true. That's the risk people have to take for cheaper prices. I will use the money I saved to get Best Buy 4 years service plan, so manufacture warranty doesn't really matter.

To buy a big item like this, it took me weeks to search for it. I contacted the seller through email and found him a decent guy (and background check) before I jump on the auction.

well if you could possibly stand further away than 3 inches from my nuts, which im sure is impossible for you, you wouldnt have the problem of getting too close a shot, im sure they didnt have 1.6x-ing my nuts in mind when they designed her chewy
