White Hot Deal! Just ordered one from OD and will pick up at local store tomorrow. $62 including MD sales tax minus $30 MIR.
Found a lot of details on deal at Chubby Billfold. At this price, it's probably cheaper to buy the whole printer than the cartridges!

Got this deal too! At first it wouldn't allow the coupon to be applied, once I logged into my account it said it had already been used when I tried to check out. Tried it again a couple of days later and it went through fine.

One thing, though, to all those asking others to PM them a coupon code. The forum rules clearly forbid this, which, while a bit anal, are the rules of the house. It's also lazy, all these codes are so simple to find! Any half way reasonable google search will give you all the codes you could ever want and more. Probably, the best is to sign up for alert service at Computerlandcentral.com, no spam, just deals.

Box says it uses USB 2.0 interface. Is anyone using this printer w/ USB 1.0? Ordered USB 2.0 PCI card and cable from Compgeeks.

Also noticed the CD-ROM that came with printer does not appear to have XP drivers, but downloaded at Canon web site, but have not installed yet. Not sure if printer will have to be reinstalled when USB 2.0 hardware is installed.

mdcrab- I have winXP and only USB 1.0, and the printer+software work great for me.

Thanks Sandor. Also found found USB 2 is backward compatible with USB 1.1, so it should work fine.

You need a USB A to B cable. Might as well get one that is compatible with USB 2. Newegg and Compgeeks both carry them if you are getting it on line. BB also has them but usually have to pay more. Walmarts also usually has them for less $.

I did not see anything on a direct connection for digital camera or a reader for digital media.

No, that is an A to A cable, and the guy above said to get an A to B cable.

I have a different question. What is the difference between a 1.0 and a 2.0 cable? I know the connectors are the same. Beyond that, isn't wire nothing but wire? How can one be faster than another?

My 'puter has both 1.0 and 2.0 USB inputs, but the 1.0s are on the front and easy to get at with the short cable I found around the house. Will I notice a difference in print speed if I use the 2.0 inputs (and a 2.0 cable, if that matters)?

Hi Boys and Girls,

I made this even a better deal. i actually ordered 2 9seperately for store pick-up. minus the $20 coupon on each. i found an online price for $59.00 from:

http://store.yahoo.com/upsource/160038.html

I added 2 packs of epson paper, because I was thinking i could later do an Amex Gold BVG and get $20.99 back bringing my total to:

79.99
-20.00 $20 of $75 Coupon
-30.00 Canon Rebate
-20.99 AMEX BVG
9.00 Total Plus tax

But I made this even better. I brought the $59 online web page and spoke to the manager. I asked if I could get a price match, since the purchase was from officedepot.com. I was very nice about it and he ended up returning both at full price $79.99 each and recharged me at $59. So whether or not I get the BVG from amex, I may actually have made a couple dollars or at least got them nearly free.

Granted, your store manager may decline the price match but it is worth asking.

PS The one I opened seems to not handle the paper well. When it prints the paper crinkles up, and doesn't feed through?? I did load enough paper. Any ideas or do I have a lemon.

187- that's the cable I ordered for it, so you should be fine (I'm currently using my scanner cable, which is A to B)

Juicebox- I've only had one problem once with printing. There's little nubbies on either side the paper has to be behind- if they get caught up here, it won't feed correctly. Except for that one time (when I discovered the nubbies), its worked without a hitch.

Have not jumped in on this because I just bought 3 Epson C-60's last month.

This is just a reminder that MEGATONERS has the import (China) ink. I have only used the Epson compatable ink myself. but they carry Canon compatable refills also.

Canon BCI-24 compatible black cartridge for model(s) , s200, s300
Regular price: $8.00
Sale price: $2.00
Canon BCI-24 compatible color cartridge for model(s) ,canon s200, s300 series
Regular price: $9.00
Sale price: $2.75

SHIPPING IS 4.75 PER ORDER , BUY 18 INKJET CARTRIDGES AND GET FREE SHIPPING

I would like to hear about how the Canon ink performs
PM me or post

Thanks! This will make a great Christmas preset for my Stepdad who is still using an old HP LaserJet Plus that I gave him many years ago.

I tried to get in on this deal last night though, but couldn't. It won't let you backorder with a coupon. Actually, I don't think their system allows backorders at all, even though it seems like it offers the option.
This morning, it's in stock! Go figure!

Wow, this is hot!! Is the rebate good for two? I was planning to buy one for my newphew but if the rebate is good for 2 then I'm getting one for myself as well.

BVG will definitely won't work because your price will be 59.99 not 79.99 after 20 off 75 coupon. Also, generally OD won't do PM's so you very lucky.

Juiceman,

How did you do this deal???

How could the manager have given you a PM against the yahoo retailer when your price after coupon is already $59.99 which is the same price as the yahoo retailer?

If he refunded the 79.99 purchase price and recharged you for 59.99 then how did you use your 20 off 75 coupon? Besides, this coupon can only be applied online.

Either way you look at it, you should have $59.99 - 30 MIR = 20.99, No BVG and No PM with coupon possible. This deal is virtually impossible.

I got in on this deal a few days ago. This is one sweet printer for the price. Very compact and sleek looking. Text prints great and it's really fast.

Got mine today! Can't beat this deal for a new printer. I was thinking about this as a gift to my parents, but I might be greedy and keep it for myself.

Does anyone know how much slower this runs under USB 1.0? Is it worth it to get a USB 2.0 card and cable just for this printer?

the printer won't feed the paper no matter what I try. Lots of people are having this same problem over at F@twallet. Anyone with the feeding problem here? i'm thinking of returning it tomorrow.

One of my friend had the same problem, he exchanged for another one at a OD store. After that it works fine.
