Most Staples have this one on clearance for $119-$30rebate=$89 + tax. If the rebate is not automatically printed out with the receipt, you may negotiate with the manager to get the instant $30 rebate.
A) That's a huge YMMV
B) At the Staples I worked at, not having the MIR printed out never meant you got the rebate instantly. You just got lucky I think.
Are you sure? I heard Canon ink is the cheapest (for either the original or generic ink route) vs. all other manufacturers (HP, Epson, Lexmark especially, etc.) and that the i860 sips ink.
I have the i850. Very similar to the i860. I have used HP printers in the past. Canon ink is MUCH less expensive. Check out tomshardware review of the i860 to compare ink costs, or read consumer reports.
Amazon had this for $100 with $30 rebate, but that ended 7/17.
Man...I just bought an 860 from Frys today for $99+tax OTD, and thought it was a good deal because its normally $149 with maybe a $20 MIR. $50 and $60 would have been nice.
Anyways, this thing is fairly quiet...better than I remember with the BJ240C.
