Regarding the papers and fading, the Canon's are susceptible to gas fading (vs. fading due to light). The Canon papers are porous, and their inks are designed to seep into the paper (allows the print to dry 'instantly'). Epson and HP papers have a swellable polymer that encapsulated the ink as the paper absorbs the ink. So Epson and HP prints are more or less sealed, whereas for Canon prints the ink is still exposed to air (via the pores in the paper) and thus fades. Placing the prints under glass will help reduce the fading a lot.
