I think I will get it..
Even tho you can't LAY anything on it.. and whatever you SCAN you have to feed thru it... IT is still a good deal
for a standalone fax, that will hookup to the pc..
but you can always walk-up to it.. copy something in b/w, or color, without the PC even being on.. not bad!

i bought this at staples a few weeks back for the same deal.
$170 - $70 rebate and a $25 store coupon.

the only thing is you have to have this canon multipass suite program running all the time. I only want to use it as a printer and a stand alone fax. Does anyone know how to print w/o the program running?

in Marysville Kansas. They work fine, and the prices are the
best I've found--shipping $3.50. Very nice people as well.

My experience with Canon rebates: If you get 'em, consider yourself lucky. I sent in rebates for two different products to cannon, and got neither of them. I thought I was saving 60 bucks...but in the end all I got was a higher phone bill and a lot of headaches. Yes, I called them and yes I sent the rebate forms in--twice--and no, I never got my money.

The cartridges also sound pretty high for that machine.

just got in on the deal. I called cst rep. just to make sure product was in stock. Hopefully, this thing performs half decent. For $80, with tax and everything, this multifunction machine should be worth it.

if anyone has problems finding this thing in stock (i doubt it) i used zip 91335 or 91135. Both had about 70 each when i called.

I bought this printer from Staples in mid December, when there was a very similar, if not identical promotion going on, i.e., $70 or $80 MIR. When I hooked it up it, there were 3/8' inch bands of ink missing on numerous test prints. Before I purchase, I routinely search for authoritative reviews, and then only purchase when I don't find negative reviews. I didn't recall finding any negative reviews prior to ordering the C520. Between the time I ordered it and tested it, I came across a highly negative anecdote about the the printer. Prior to seeing its quality I was very pleased to get such a good price for a multi-function printer for which I didn't find negative reviews. I was going to give it to my parents. High quality was not a requiremnt, but basic completion of a print was. I sent it back. The particular Canon C530 I had was inoperable. After this experience, I now regard Canon as a company who will sell extremely inferior products.

Hi y'all.

I picked up this printer last month via this thread and it's a decent printer for the price. Got it to work under 98 and 2000 without any major problems. However, it is a little slow, is parallel only (no USB) and I have also noticed some banding errors when printing out photos.

I was at a local store yesterday and noticed that they are selling the 530 and the newer version - the 755/G3 for the same price. Naturally, I inquired about doing an exchange, but without actually having bought from this store (receipt, or name in the computer) it was a no-can-do.

Now I really want to exchange my 530 for the 755. Does anyone know any stores that are selling both (even though the 530 is no longer made) and will do a hassle-free exchange.

I dunno why 'multipass' would necessarily mean slow. I think the parallel connection is the bottleneck. A usb multipass should be okay, right?

hey folks....I have the canon bjc 6000. It is a great printer. A little loud though. I am guessing the nightmares that some folks are having is due to the 4-in-1 machines having crummy drivers or software(just a guess). My 1/50th of a buck.
