Canon n650u and Canon n656u

Anybody know the difference between these two besides the color? I've looked at the specifications don't see any difference at all. Any help?

There is none. The 656 is just aluminum in colour, as opposed to beige.

I bought the 650.

The best thing about these scanners, as you've likely noticed, is their LED lamps that require no warm-up time and are powered directly from the USB port (no power cord or transformer brick).

I like mine.

Forget both of them and do what I did, buy a refurbished HP. The refurbished HP Scanners are refurbed by HP and come with upto date software and a warranty from HP. And the best part of this is you can get an office quality unit versus a home unit.
I have a 6200cse (USB or SCSI) that I bought about 6 months ago for $100.00 (This unit sold for a suggested retail of $499.00 when was new, We have one where I work and that's what we paid). It came in the factory box and was absoulutly perfect (Not only do they repair any problems they also correct any assembly line flaws). And the benifit is that you get a scanner that will scan and 8 x 10 picture in about 12 seconds (SCSI)

Because it's silver? haha.. What a waste. Save the 30 bucks and just get the 650.

I have it and love the damn thing.

Go with the white 650U. Don't bother spending the extra simply for the silver/grey cover. Of course, if you really wanted the silver cover, I went for the N1220U...
