I got one a couple weeks ago.

Eh, not sure if it was worth the money or not. Right now it seems way to sensitive. Any SLIGHT movement will mess (blur) up the picture; even in auto mode witch should be n00b friendly.

Still haven't invested enough time in it to give final judgment, but those are my 1st thoughts. I really like some of the features this camera has though. Witch is why I bought it.

Hmm....

I would recommend using the AE settings with the shutter priority and a minimum of 1/125 of a sec or faster if you are a particularly jumpy person. Using the flash should help freeze the shot too.

I've been into photography for a looong time and one thing I know about all auto exposure cameras, particularly in dark indoor settings is that auto settings can tend to get compromised. The balance between shutter speed and aperture is a delicate one with most auto settings leaning towards a higher aperature and a lower shutter speed. This is what was so great about the old Canon AE SLR. It was one of the first cameras that gave you proper control of the shutter speed.

You mean AV?

I'm not all that jumpy. I don?t have the steadiest hands, but I've never had this problem with any other digital.

Some pictures come out really nice, but a good portion of them don't. I don't want to worry about this when the time comes where I want to take some nice pictures. That's why I brought it up.

I have the same issues with my Minolta. It's almost impossible to take any indoor shots without the flash. I'd like to learn to use some of the manual settings but I also want a camera that I can just point and shoot. My old Olympus always too good pics but it was only 1.3MP which is not quite enough.

I just got the A80 a few days ago and have not had any problems whatsoever with out-of-focus shots.

I have had an A80 for a couple weeks with no significant issues with indoor shots.
Some shots do come out blurry due to user error.

I have had issues trying to focus on items using the Macro feature however, it never will focus on what I want. Somebody suggested using the 'center point' ficus mode but I haven't figured that out yet.

btw I printed out some indoor and outdoor pics on 4"x6" glossy paper with my Canon i900d and they look fantastic.

Actually, I would suggest Canon's "Tv" setting. The Av setting is the one that automaticly sets the shutter speed. If you set the shutter speed fast enough you will not have any blurry pics due to shaking.
