This is my first post for hot deals. In the new issue of PC Mag there's an add around page 72 for gateway. The add shows the Canon S400 for $199.99. This is a TYPO so please do not call Gateway to confirm this price. As you notice the camera right above it, the FujiFilm goes for $499.99 in which normally it's suppose to be $199.99. I have read in other forums that in fact this did work for some people. Take this add to CC, BB or OD and get a PM on this item. %110 PM and you walk out of there with a brand new camera. Keep in mind this is a slim chance that they'll give you the PM without confirming it with Gateway.
Tried this last night at BB in Cali and the guy unfortunatelly called Gateway to confirm the add. I wasn't able to get them to PM it to that price so I just politely thanked them and walked out of there. I am now off to go try it at CC, GG, and OD.
Good Luck everyone...I am sure a few of us will be able to walk out of there with a new camera. Please DO NOT CALL Gateway and confirm price and DO NOT abuse this so everyone can try before all stores know about this problem.
Clearly not everyone enjoyed this post. After checking at CC, Good Guys, OD, Staples and another BB, I came home empty handed. The only way you will get this is if the manager really does not care, since all the places I've been to ,had to check with their managers,
therefore nobody would get fired since the final decision came from the managers.
All deals have loop around it. Like when the 80GB HDD was giong for $10 with all the PM, AR, etc...I just felt that this was another loop. In either case, you were somehow taking advantage of others, since in the end the company most likely did not intend to sell the product (in this case being the 80GB HDD) for so cheap. So in the end if you are trying to be hones and not taking advantage, you probably don't need to be in this forum. I am only here to find the best deals in electronics that will be worth nothing in 2-3 years.
Like I've stated above this was probably a slim chance...I dind't say it was gonna work a 100%. In either case, I just felt it was worth a try. It's not everyday you can walk out of a store with a merchandise worth $500+ for $170. If you don't think this is ethical, honest, etc... then you don't have to try it. I just posted for those out there that are looking for a digi camera (like myself) and just came across something that you'll have nothing to lose on.

Hot deal only for those that don't mind taking advantage of others.
