Can't attatch P4 HSF clip to motherboard...fingers very sore now. :-/

I've been trying for ages now and have very sore fingers. Read the P4 manual saying "Consult you motherboard's manual", read the motherboard one telling me "This motherboard uses a ZIF (zero insertion force) method to attatch the plastic bracket to your motherboard" (I'm talking about the thing that the HSF than attatches to)...ZIF? pffft! I've been waiting months to install this...and now the little ah heck won't go in to place. It's an Abit IT7 motherboard and the darn thing just REFUSES to slot through no matter how much pressure I put on any part of the bracket.

I'd normally put this in CPU's...but I really do what some help super fast so I can finally play (had my last GCSE this morning!) the games I've wanted to since March (when I fried my AMD system.)

You just kinda seat the heatsink in the plastic cage....

Then I usually get a screwdriver, and force those clips down on the heatsink...thats about it, really easy.

I've installed a couple of them, and used a screwdriver. Just be careful not to let it slip and funk something up!!

It's in! I was looking at the way it worked and saw that the plastic pins move in and out...so I popped 'em all out and placed the plastic thing in and it popped in to place. Put all the plastic pins back in to the wholes and whammo! It's all in.

Time to go and install the P4 and the rest of the system...hopefully next time I post it'll be from Jolly Potato (my computer's name)...

Cheers...the mentions of using a screwdriver gave me the idea of looking more at popping things out to make it go in.
