Cant decide between these two monitors:

[Lopyswine]

this one is 19" and has won some new egg rewards. it is 700:1 contrast, 5ms, and apparently a more sturdy base.


Hanns


this one is 20.1" and has a higher contrast ration, 1000:1. Apprently the base is a little less sturdy. Some people say that it isn't as "sharp" as the Hanns.


Sceptre


The Sceptre is 199 after rebates and the Hanns is 179 after rebates.

What do you guys think?

Depends on your graphics card, highend go for the sceptre, midrange go for the hanns.

i have a midrange card.

why is that? would the midrange card have problems handling the larger screen?

Well, for gaming the midrange would have trouble with the res of the 20.1

i have a piece of ****** x700 pro, it doesn't appear to have problems on my 21" CRT.

I have a 7800GT and I just got that Sceptre monitor for christmas
I love it.
Had two problems so far, and neither were with the monitor itself
No dead pixels
Great color (especially with nVidia's digital vibrance on - my old monitor I had to have that all the way up to get the same color i get on this monitor at low)

It's not about screen type, it's about resolution. The more pixels you drive and the more you process those pixels, the harder the video card has to work.

Sure, you may have a 21" CRT, but at what resolution?
