cant get my mike to work

Hi,

My crap mike wont work. i got no drivers to it. not necessary i suppose. i run win2k, and i was wondering what setts i have to adjust or if im plugging it into the right jack. ive tried the obvious ones...the one with the mike pic is the one i suppose, but its not on the soundcard though...pls help me ....

When I got my mike it sounded all robot-like. All I did was download the updated 4 in 1 drivers from VIA because I was using their on-board sound, and that fixed it right up. The point of that is that you might want to update the drivers for your sound card.

I just read your post again, and if you have a soundcard (which I think you do) you'll need to plug it into that. It sounds like you are currently plugging it into your motherboard's microphone input jack, which won't work since you are not using the motherboard's on-board sound. I would just try all the jacks on your sound card and one of them should work. Also make sure that the mike is on and the volume is turned up (that means the volume on your speakers and the volume in windows (using the icon at the bottom right of your screen in windows)). Hope some thing I said is useful to you

Agree with Skinner2. It's either muted, turned down all the wat, or plugged into the wrong jack.

If you've been ripping CD's or using a TV Tuner, your mic might me muted. Some applications seems to mute your mic when they're using Line-In.
