Can't install SP2 RC2

I'm currently running Win XP Pro SP1, and I wanted to try and install SP2 RC2 but I can't get it to work. I updated windows update to 5.0 beta a couple weeks ago and now it says it needs to update itself again, but it fails during the registering phase every time. I tried to download the network install also but that fails when it says it doesn't have access to atapi.sys. Any ideas?

he'd still have to uninstall daemon tools, see this thread:

It was alcohol 120 that I had to unistall, but the d-tools tip is what led me to figure that out, thanks. SP2 RC2 installed just fine from the network install, but even afterward windowsupdate still won't update itself. It just fails out everytime. Any ideas?

build 2149 is pretty much finished product, depending on feedback
