Whenever I click on links with a question mark in the address I get page cannot be displayed. This only happens on my home machine so its not the site (eg. sports.yahoo.com - Fantasy tab).

IE 6 on Win XP pro - no proxies enabled.
Firewall completely disabled, but ICS is running.
Tried clearing temp internet files etc... but no go.

Any ideas?

Why not post a link to such a site? I can't recall ever seeing one with ? in it.

Heh, yeah didn't even notice this site has a ? in it. Ok maybe its not the ? then.

The main site I'm having trouble with is Yahoo Fantasy Sports.
I can get to the main Yahoo sports page fine here. But I can't click the Fantasy tab at all. I have to remove the first half of the link for it to work. I'm on a gateway machine with ICS and my client machine can open the same link np.

Any ideas?

OK . . . the same thing happens here. My conclusion is that Fantasy Sports must be accessed THROUGH the main page. There are many web pages that way where you must go through some hoops to get there and be exposed to their advertisers enroute. It is not your system . . . it is the way the web page is designed.

I know that this site doesn't require that. My 2nd computer and my computer at work have no issues clicking on the fantasy tab.
Strange isn't it?

Have you tried a mirror of your IE advanced settings with the machine that works to the one that doesn't? Seems that it should be a Javascript error or something but IE6 should have no probs with Javascript. Lemme know if you figure it out.

Just compared proxy, security, and advanced options for both computers and they're identical. I did find out though that the link works fine if I use my ISPs proxy. Now I'm even more confused. Great.

Figured it out. I had some Tweak XP software or something installed with an ad-blocker. The ad-blocker just added domains to my hosts file, rd.yahoo.com included. It didn't remove them after uninstalling it so I did it manually and everything works fine now.

My own stupidity and the dumb program.
