This board tends to undervolt my OCZ ram. I have the EL PC3200 platinum rev. 2, it states stock voltage of 2.75 yet this board sets it at 2.6. I currently have mine running 232mhz with 2.8 volts.

You most likely need to up the ddr volts. The warranty limit is 3.0 on the rev.2 and I think its 2.8 on the regular platinum.

Some motherboards have a limited range of DIMM voltages that are below the warranty limits of the modules:

OCZ DDR BOOSTER

I got one, stuck it in a vacant slot, ran the voltages up above 2.9V for my OCZ DDR500's (warrantied to 3.0V). Eventually, I felt more comfortable with an OC involving default voltage settings, so I trimmed it back. It may be my imagination, but the product seems to provide cleaner power to the modules whether you boost the voltage or leave it at default.

So I left it in there, and it's still hogging a memory slot. (I dont need more than 1GB, anyway.)

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering, what is the difference between my revision 1 and the revision 2? are they actually different hardware or just warrantied up to higher voltages with better timings? what is your experience with increasing ram and cpu voltages? what is the average limit of imcreasement? could my rev1 do 3v too? what do i want more, bus or timings? where is a good balance? haha sorry about so many questions, but im new to commercial ram. thanks

Rev1 and Rev2 are different chipsets I beleive, the rev2's will run tighter(lower timings) and will run at a little higher speeds. But the current max ram speed on this board is 240mhz so your rev1's should easily hit the limit for this board.

Speed and timings are both important but finding a balance is not difficult on this board because of the 240mhz limit. You just run your ram as close to 240 as possible and use the lowest timings that your ram will support at that given speed. The most important number in your timings if the first one 2,2.5,3 the next three don't matter as much, so set to 3 and work backwards to find your best timings. You can also use the Auto mode, it generally keeps the timings as close to SPD(default) as possible. The SPD on my rev2's are 2-2-2-5 @200mhz, I'm currently running Auto mode @232mhz and it gives me 2-3-3-5

And on volts you should be fine up to 2.8 over that your on your own
