Was having some issues with freezes & drops after upgrading my vid card from a Radeon 9200 to a pny geforce 6800 GT. Someone suggested using the program 'DriverCleaner' to find and remove any old ATI drivers I may have missed. In the middle of the cab cleaning, my computer locked up and I had to restart it. I couldn't even get it to boot in safe mode for a while. I finally got it in safe mode and reinstalled all of my nvidia drivers. Everything worked for a couple of days until I started getting frequent repeating errors with MS Messenger that windows would want to send off to MS support. I uninstalled MS messenger at that time because I don't use it anyway. After restarting my computer, I started getting BSOD's when windows would start, 'Page fault in non-paged area' or 'Device driver has a pool' were the ones I was getting. Tried to boot in safe mode, but system would lock up after loading drivers, last one loaded would be 'mup.sys'. Tried to reinstall windows, but BSOD would come up after drivers were loaded....Suggestions?
One thought I have is to buy a second HD and install that as my master HD and install win XP on that to try and set my existing HD to slave in order to pull off my important data and then reformat that drive to NTFS from fat32.
