Can't run AthlonB at 133mhz

I've got a Tbird 700mhz (7.0x100) and an Iwill kk266 mobo. In the bios, I set the multiplier at 5.5 and on the mobo I set the DIP switch at 133. I have 448MB pc133 at CL3 in the mobo.

It posts fine at 735mhz, but in windows I get lots of errors... any ideas? This tbird runs fine at 8.5x100....

i kinda doubt the problem is your cpu. they usually dont care what fsb either 100/133/etc all they care about is total mhz.

make sure your memory can handle the 133 bus, also make sure your pci bus is at 1/4th instead of 1/3rd (pci should be around 33mhz which is set at 1/3rd system bus when you are at 100mhz)


i just reread your post 448mb ram, i would really really suspect that one of your memory modules is not able to run at 133mhz

I'm assuming you've connected the L1's properly?

Yeah... L1's have been connected for months now and as I mentioned above, I've been running the mulitplier at 8.5.... I'll check the memory out tonite and see.. thanks!

I have an unlocked B Tbird 1GHz that will not run at 133MHz on my A7V133 without giving me errors when I reboot (whether the multiplier is 7.5, 8, 8.5) but runs happily at 132 or 134 and above. It's running stable now at 8x140=1120MHz. Go figure!
