I got my AC on tonight in FL... Humid as HELL...
To me, 40s/50s and humid feels more miserable than 20s and dry. At least that's how I remember the couple winters I spent down there.

Could go to Hawaii... they're pretty much 80F year round.
Southern California. There is no perfect place, everywhere you go it will either be too cold in winter or too hot in summer, you just have to decide which is the lesser of two evils.

It's nice. I lived in Paia (north shore Maui) for 2.5 years. San Diego is never really cold, has some of the finest (maybe THE finest) weather in the mainland US. Not hot a lot of the time like L.A. I like it in Berkeley, CA. It's cold during the winter but not terribly cold. I saw a guy riding his bike a week ago wearing a T shirt and shorts. There's seasons here, good for the soul, whereas in L.A. there's not that much differentiation. You can get 80 degree days in January in L.A. AFAIK there's no place in CA that's plagued by stifling humidity, ever. I think most if not all of the east coast and a lot of the south definitely are.Mid 80's in Lahaina all this week. Lows in the 60's.
My ultimate retirement spot.
Wha? My cousin lives in AZ and in the summer it's like 115. If you don't have AC you're fucked. You have to stay indoors. She spent the summer in the S.F. Bay Area and will next summer too.Arizona.
Dude, depends on where you live. If you are in the wooded hills, yeah, fire can be a threat. Most people are not. You hear about the fires on the news, don't assume the whole state is subject to that. Now earthquakes are a different monster, but killer earthquakes aren't something that happens every year.well cali gets raped by fires.. i love the cold
Given the strength of your communication abilities I would say you are one of the people in southern california I was commenting about earlier.FL is hell.. very low quality of people. Boring as all hell.

anywhere in the southeast (save florida) is prone to odd temperature fluctuactions. you get the worst of everything- 100+ days and below freezing days. even in the 'moderate' seasons, the temps can fluctuate quite a bit.
i can't think of anywhere other than florida or [parts of] california that is typically nice year-round (florida is hot and muggy in the summer, though).
