Heard them talking about a similar incident where a man and his wife gambled away all their savings and maxed out all their cards in online gambling sessions. Their response, let's sue our credit card companies.

Let's start a class action suit! I want to join the millions who have no responsiblity for themselves or anything else and file frivilous lawsuits. After that suit I am going to sue fast food companies for making people I see on the street unsightly and overweight and forcing me to look at them. After that lawsuit I am going to sue hot sauce manufacturers for making my tongue burn when I use their sauce on my food!!!
Actually I've heard about this in the past.. Since gambling is illegal (unless in certain states), credit cards cannot be
used for these activities. I've heard of instances in the past of people using that loophole to get out of (smaller) debts, although they get blacklisted immediately from online gambling sites.
This is prolly the first time it has come up with such a significant monetary sum.. it will surely be tested in court.
see the online casinos make it so tempting.
you cant stop once you start.
kudos for her, fight those evil CC companies and casinos for taking all their money away from them.
Having lost all their money and putting themselves in that kind of debt is a good indicator of their characters. The lawsuit just adds to the evidence of their stupidity.
IMHO they should be made to pay a heavy fine for the frivolous case. Well, I guess in this case they are bankrupt but in general. This might at least discourage future frivolous cases.
