Capacitor fell off from R9 290X - help needed

So I've decided to change the thermal paste of my R9 290X, and when I removed the heatsink, realized that one of the capacitors was kinda hanging in a strange way.
Tried to straighten it - when I touched it, it just fell off.

Does anyone know if it is a power filter or something more important?
I'll try to find a electronic store to fix it, but not sure if I will find one. Don't really have the money to change my GPU, so any help would be more than welcome!

Here is my GPU exact model:

Attached are two pics - first, how the capacitor was crooked, then when a close-up after it fell.

I hate black PCBs for making it harder to trace the circuit, and doing it over the internet doesn't help, BUT...

Based on proximity it looks like it is just filtering the input from the connectors next to it.

Whether that affects stability in a significant way depends on how close the design was cutting it, or whether it's some factory o'c or user-o'c where cleaner power matters.

Either way, the exact value of capacitor doesn't matter but very low ESR probably does.

Any competent TV/etc electronics repair place could fix that, or any friend nearby who is good at soldering, as-in, does it on multi-layer PCBs, has a soldering station and a few years under the belt using it.

It could make things easier on whoever repairs it, to go ahead and get the replacement capacitor, try to ID the cap or at least get the basic parameters... diameter, lead pitch (distance between the two leads), capacitance, voltage, and height really doesn't matter since nothing in the ballpark will be so tall as to block the next PCIe slot on a double height card such as yours.

If you can supply a better picture of it, the markings on the top and the above info, I may be able to suggest some suitable alternatives you could get from digikey for (guessing) under $5 delivered (most of that being postage). Radio Shack is out, they stock nothing that's a solid low ESR cap like that.

SO, I'm suggesting that you could try the card as is and it may be stable, but I'd go ahead and have it repaired if that is manageable.

Unless more happened than just that cap being knocked off, you should not have to get a new video card. That IS easily fixable.

If you mailed me the card, and the new replacement capacitor, and a prepaid return shipping box inside so minimum time for me, I'd fix it for free... it would take a minute to fix, but I understand not dealing with people over the internet, all kinds of paranoia sets in.

It could be easier for you to reach out to friends you know locally to see who has soldering skills, than bothering to pack and ship it, and cheaper too, but if you have to pay a repair shop, it wouldn't surprise me if they want something close to 2/3rds the value of the card as some kind of guesstimation of what they think the customer might pay.

I agree that's very fixable, just get some ESD tweezers and a focused heat soldering gun and that'll go right back on. I would put some foil pieces around the area, but that's really all there is to it.

I've had to re-solder those tiny fuses before too, and those are a little trickier but those caps are cake.

Thank you all for the replies!

I'm sorry, I forgot to post here...

About 2-3 weeks after the post o went to an electronics supply shop and got a capacitor which had the same specs as the one which fell off.

Then, just took it to a random shady general electronics shop and asked a guy to solder it for me, while I watched. The whole process took like two minutes, and it was done.
I spent the equivalent to 5 us dollars total on it!

The card is working like a charm, and with the new thermal compound I applied to it, the temperatures dropped by about 10 C, which was my original goal - so, all good here!!

I don't know of the card would work without giving the cap, as I was too afraid to try using without it.

Anyway, thanks very much for all your help!
