Power to weight ratio of 1160 HP per ton, with 580 HP and roughly half the weight of a Lotus Elise. For comparison, the Bugatti Veyron has "only" 522 HP per ton, and the McLaren F1 had 550 HP per ton. They are promising 3g through the corners and under braking. This car will be blisteringly, staggeringly, earth-shatteringly quick. Top Gear magazine hints that we may get to see The Stig take one around the Top Gear testing track. I can't wait.

Yeah its been around sometime, I remember reading about it last year. No idea on cost, availability and doubts on its street legality though. Seems like a dedicated track queen which is too bad.

Will cost ~£223,000 or ~$458,000. Which will probably work out to be around $400,000 to you lot..

i wonder what V8 they use: a "built from scratch", or taking MBZ's or Audi's mass production one and mod the hell out of it. 10k rpm doesn't seems possible though with what they have though

Personally, I think it's a bargain. It's the effectively a street-legal (not sure about the US though) F1 car. Lateral and braking forces of 3G are absolutely unheard of for any road-going car.

The engine is effectively an IRL (Indy racing league) V8. It's won't have the impact of a 19k rpm F1 engine, but will last a lot longer.

It would be a bargain if you could drive it on the street, which you can't in the US.

For a track only vehicle, there are probably more cost effective choices.
