CAPS lock light turning on when computer is off

When I turn my computer off, the CAPS lock light on my Saitek Eclipse keyboard keeps blinking, flickering, or staying on for a few seconds. There is no pattern, it just keeps turning on and off erractically.

Here's the pertinent specs:
PC Power and Cooling 1kW PSU
ASUS P5Q motherboard
Saitek Eclipse

I have everything plugged into an APC surge protector. I have no idea when this started; for all I know it's been doing this for a while, but I doubt it. Is this something I should be worried about?

Perhaps I'm posting in the wrong forum? I posted in the this one, motherboards, peripherals, and computer help, and still no replies to any of them.

I would really like to find out what's going on here. I have tried searching the web for similar situations, but I haven't had any luck.

Sometimes when I power off, an LED on my keyboard stays lit for a while. If it's blinking and stops doing so after 30s or so, it's probably just some capacitor draining. If it keeps going indefinitely..umm...somebody that knows more than me will post.

Be sure its not because your Motherboard is activelly waiting for a power on keyboard event.

Most motherboard from the past couple of years have that feature.

How would I check to see if that's the case?

Hi,

It's unlikely to be anything to worry about we've seen similar behaviour with a variety of products that have LEDs in them - even our basic colour notebook mice. On some PCs, it seems that even in shutdown mode, power is still being supplied through the USB ports, sporadically or otherwise.

In some cases, it's the Wake On LAN function being enabled in the BIOS that does it, in others it's just having the USB Keyboard function enabled in the BIOS - in others we can't find anything in the BIOS that seems to affect it at all!

Yeah, don't worry about it. Some motherboard/keyboard setups keep light on (but flashing?) due to standby power.
