I know the shows have ref the movies, and I remember AoS attempting to do some cross overish stuff, but not the direct tie ins where you'd see the characters in the movies at this point... maybe Coulson but I doubt we'll see Sky/Daisy the hacker-girl-turned-Inhuman. I could be wrong, but it really looks like they're keeping those brands separate, other than the "yep we're connected but nothing we do matters to the other brands even though you'd think it would."

Technically Colson gave Nick Fury the helicarrier used at the end of Age of Ultron, but again, if you didn't watch the show you wouldn't have known. And it wouldn't have mattered. At one point the goal was probably to do more crossovers, but the heads of Marvel Studios got into a tiff and now the films and TV are two separate divisions. The head of TV was the one pushing for the Inhumans movie, and the first FU by the movie division was cancel that movie. And there was no AoS tie in to Civil War, so they are probably moving farther apart.

Just not sure how the relationship is between Film and Netflix. The Netflix shows are popular enough that it just makes sense to have them in the MCU. And they have real Marvel characters with history, unlike AoS. I think Charlie Cox (Daredevil) even has it in his contract that he will have to do Marvel movies if asked, they just haven't asked yet.

BTW, I forgot Nick Fury was also in a couple episodes of AoS, as well as Maria Hill. And Howard Stark from Captain America (1) was a semi regular in Agent Carter.

Also loved that they put double extras after the credits. I love after the credits stuff!

I just wish they would do them one after the other instead of making you wait for all the credits. These 2 1/2 hour movies are hard on a middle aged bladder.

I remember him giving Fury the carrier, but if I recall correctly, it was just mentioned in the AoS show, most likely to explain why they weren't using them. To be clear on it, I do watch the show, but am about 5-6 episodes behind as it's just not that great of a show. Carter I did drop last season because it's one of the worst comic shows ever made (mostly kidding, but it's really bad). Ultimately my point was, you wouldn't get the TV people in the movie. As you said they divisions split so there's even less chance of seeing these characters in the movies. That isn't even really a bad thing, as there's so many characters they could draw from the only one I can see being a major loss right now is the Absorbing Man, as he's the only real Avengers villain that was a major recurring villain in the books. Outside of that, I really don't think any of the others would be missed..mostly cause they're not gone, they're doing their thing in their shows.

One of the reviews I listened to said this was probably Downey's best performance as IM.

I would agree with it.. it's as good if not better than the first Iron Man. He was reigned in a lot more than his movies so he wasn't so over the top obnoxious.

Great movie. Felt it was just the correct length and liked it from beginning to end.

So the Winter Warrior character is Bucky? I thought that the Nazis killed Bucky in the Invaders comics.

Yep. More of a somber ending than all the other Marvel movies, but necessarily so.

They're set up nicely for the next couple of Avenger movies now.

My favorite marvel movie yet! I was somewhat skeptical that it would be good due to throwing in too many characters, but somehow, they incorporated each one in the right amount of screen time. Good balance between action, story, and humor.

I did find it a little silly that Captain America can fall so many times from great heights and not even really get bruised.

Winter Soldier but yes. They killed him and then brought him back.

phoenix and uncle ben are alive as well

Jean Grey is aliveish (alternate timeline version) and Uncle Ben is still dead.. though to be fair there's a comic that's about alternate Spider-Mans that has a version of him running around, still dead in the 616/Prime universe though.

One thing's certain.

This movie was way better than the last Avengers movie.

Spidey (badass), Black Panther (badass) and Ant-Man (clown show) were the highlights..

Another thing I thought of that was kinda silly:

That scene where bucky went "rogue" again while being evaluated by the villain, Tony uses his watch to create an iron man glove.

What's silly is that how does he fit so much metal in that little watch? I mean I get that he has tech to transform him pretty much anywhere (from a suit case, in his jet, etc), but that watch was small and so much metal came out from it.

his newer suits are nano-tech and rather insane. The really tech ones are actually bonded with him (bleeding edge version). i have to say it's to the point i just don't care about his armor.

I finally got to see the movie. I enjoyed it all. From the hot aunt may to the black panther. I think they knocked spider-man out of the ballpark. with his mannerism and fighting style.

I am excited for the next movies. the Avengers and spiderman. really though wish they had logan in this. he is one of the avengers and it would have been entertaining him and spidey..

I've found that every Iron Man movie since the original Iron Man has made me dislike the character more and more. His motivations were the worst in the entire movie, and especially
at the end. You're treated to this one holographic memory scene at MIT as the "backing" to show you why he gets so mad when he finds out that Bucky is the one that killed his mother and father. The thing is... I ain't buying it. It's shit motivation!

Speaking of shit motivation, how about that elevator scene? That was the literal worst writing in the movie. You've got this character that is apparently just waiting at this elevator to tell Tony Stark her sob story. Of course, she has no idea if he's actually going to go to that elevator. Now, Tony ends up going off the reservation, and showing this kid's picture to the other Avengers like they don't know that people died... and completely ignoring that they were shown in Age of Ultron actively saving dozens of people in the city.

In summation, this movie was poorly written, and I don't want any "but... but... it's a dumb comic book movie!" excuses. ...but Aunt May sure was a looker.

just watched it. loved it except:

1) as someone else said, this whole thing started because
a woman was waiting for Stark at MIT at a location
he happened to stumble to because of a convergence of multiple events.

if any one of those events didn't happen, Stark would probably not been at the elevator.
meh

2) wtf capt America as strong as spider man?!

3) wtfbbq cap going toe to toe w/iron man in hand to hand?!
iron man is near hulk level strength.
1 hit should have pulverized caps body/sheered his head off his neck.

4) we finally see nice butt girl with her widow's bite.
it only took 3 movies...

5) what
helicarrier
as others mentioned in this thread?!

6) was DISAPPOINTED to see someone other than Bruce Wayne play Antman.
comedy was still good but was still very surprised the original actor didn't reprise his role.
(yeah, I know.. Bats vs Sups)

and nice plot twistS (yeah, plural) running on the vengeance theme.

Also confused by his complaint.

I wonder if he's thinking about Daredevil, which is a Marvel property, originally being played by Ben Affleck who is now playing Batman. Daredevil and Ant-Man both have red outfits, so maybe that's it? I mean... Paul Rudd has been the only live-action, on-screen Ant-Man that I know of.

Cap has extremely enhanced strength/speed/agility. If he can handle twenty Hydra baddies in an elevator AND Red Skull AND Winter Soldier and hold a helicopter down with one arm why should he have a problem with Spider Man? It's not like Dr Erskin/Howard Stark went to all that effort just to create a sorta buffed out regular guy.

Agreed on IM's super screwed up motives and actions. Of course this is nothing new as he's made spectacularly bad choices in nearly every movie.

For all his enhancements, Cap is not on Spider-Man's level in terms of strength. While Cap could fight all the 'twenty Hydra baddies in an elevator" Spider-Man could carry them all up the side of the building. We're talking raw strength here not fighting ability.

This is a young Spider-Man, and I took as more practical combat experience vs raw ability. For all we know this was Spider-Man's first fight in the big leagues.

So what you're saying is that both superheros & athletes perform better on 'roids? :awe:
