Its on more cars from factory nowadays than it used to be (see Ford).

It has been a rice trend forever, copying the M3 and what not

Silly kids. Those have been on Buick's since the early 1950's.

1956 Buick Roadmaster

Yeah, but were those stuck on with double-sided tape? Do you think they look good on a 1994 Ford Explorer?

I agree PT Cruisers are very very ugly, but who cares what other people think of your chosen mode of transportation (I drive a 98 Camry lolerz).

The funniest trend (not really new) is idiot teenagers who put hood pins on their 120hp late 90's Civics which are never going to see a track.

Speaking fake air intakes/ports, I've always wondered, is there any point to the scoops on the sides of Mustangs?

I don't know about the sides, but the hood scoops on most Mustangs have a solid plastic 'grill' completely blocking any airflow.

The newer "Shaker" hoods have functional scoops. They aren't really necessary anymore though. The old reasoning was to get cooler air to the carb, which pretty much had to be mounted dead center on top for a V8 engine. With EFI and whatnot it's usually easier now to just pull in fresh air from the fender.

The side scoops are almost never functional. A few of the older Shelby Mustangs did have functional side scoops, and some other variants may have, but those are the exceptions rather than the rule.

Ah, ok. I remember looking into the scoop of a Mustang GT (99+) and seeing the black plastic inside...makes you go !

I saw a Civic in Florida the other day...stock hood and hood pin plates..with no pins. :Q

That's pretty childish. Different people have different taste.

The Cruiser was a sharp looking car, and the sales figures back me up. It definitely beats most of the generic garbage on the road. You could put any badge on the front of most cars, and people wouldn't know the difference. Toyota, Ford, Honda... They all look the same.

So these are just stick-ons?

Oh god yes. It's the newest in cheapo Autozone hook-ups for your car. Every bit as classy as LED tailpipes, HID conversion kits, and chrome rims on your Corolla.

At least real HIDs can have a practical benefit..

You forgot the pink racing stripes too...

Saw a Corolla with those today...*shudder*

Yea if your car came with them but just sticking them in where your bulbs use to be is why I get blinded all the time at night.
