Car Accident...need a place to store a car for a few weeks

My mother was in a car accident on Tuesday and was rushed to the hospital. She is ok, just some bruising, but her car is impounded and is costing a fortune to keep at the impound. The car is unable to drive anymore since the right front wheel was destroyed I'm trying to find some place I can store the car or leave the car, at least for a couple weeks, so that the insurance companies can come take a look at the damages. None of my friends have enough driveway or garage space to hold the car. Insurance company and Police Department have been less than helpful.

Please, anyone with info about places in South Bay/Los Angeles Airport area (Torrance, Hawthorne, Inglewood, El Segundo, etc.) or Beach areas (Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, etc.) let me know. I need to get this wreck moved by tomorrow, if not today.

Talked to the insurance company, but they're giving me the run around..."Oh, Mr. So-and-So will have to speak with you on that since that's his department". Also, it looks like the person that hit my mother also has the same insurance company as my mother.

Looks like I'll have to find a personal lawyer now since I doubt the insurance company is going give my mother much on a settlement.

have you considered a self storage unit? maybe you should call a local junkyard and see what rates run at.

ya...get a self storage garage and pull your car in there...don't get caught though, it may go against their terms of service/use.

Thanks for the advice. I've been looking into self storages, but just like you said, they won't allow non-functional vehicles.

I guess I have to try and sneak it in somehow

Where did your mom normally park it? Have it towed there.

Actually, your mother's insurance company should be handling these details. You need to get on the phone with her agent and get him/her on the ball.

i'm also looking for a place to store my car while i work on it.

but i haven't been too successful.
