Car Audio: Amplifier Bridging Question

I have a 4 channel amp that needs to power two subs. The amp has 8 speaker connections on it, each group of two labeled 1 2 3 and 4. It has two bridging buttons labeled "1/2 Bridge" and "3/4 Bridge" Once those buttons are pushed, where do I connect the positive and negative of each speaker?

It should say on the amp or in the amps manual.....it vary's for each amp, and I wouldn't recommend just touching the wires to find out either.

I don't have a manual and the diagram on the amp doesn't have anything about bridging. I would think this would be common among amplifiers.

It will be the positive of one and the negative on the other.
I don't think you will hurt anythign by trying out both combos.

My carver car amps the positives of both channels, see the difference.
It's different because there's different circuit layous and amp chips used in most amps....
I doubt you'll do any damage, but posting the model number and name of the amp would be helpful...
