WTF, two months for a Prius? We got one a few weeks ago and had zero wait. We contacted the dealer on Wednesday, flew down there an picked up the car on Saturday, and we paid way under invoice.

They said that 3 weeks ago they had 40 in stock and sold all 40 in 3 days. I wasn't about to even try and go through any hassles to try and get one.

If you are up for a flight to VA I can get you our sale person's name. She gave us the price under invoice at first contact. She said she likes meeting people so she sells at a loss.

Thanks for offering! I've already got the RAV and I'm pretty happy with it so I'm going to stick with it, especially since I got 4k for my car that was worth nothing. I don't think I could get money from any other dealer in america.

I thought Toyota's run forever.

..big Tundra(Tuba) recall ongoing. Their 5.7L v8 is chewing up cam shafts. All 30K of em have to be replaced.

I can't find any links to a Tundra recall over camshafts. I see that the Detroit Free press thinks they are going to have a recall because of 20 broken camshafts out of 30,000 engines. In cases where a Tundra camshaft fails, Toyota is replacing the engine at no charge. Toyota says it was an early batch provided by a supplier and Toyota is "confident in the production from that point on."

I realize you are a Toyota hater but you need to do better than that.

I have heard absolutely nothing about a recall. Prove it IGBT.

Just because Toyota hasn't recalled them yet doesn't mean they won't. I'm sure it won't matter to you, being fanboys and all, but doing a search for "tundra camshafts" yields a lot of negative publicity. The ONLY reason they haven't yet is the estiamted $150 million bill.

And just because they haven't recalled them yet doesn't mean they will.

As taken from the Auto News release about the subject matter: Michels says that it was "an early batch," and that "Toyota is confident in the production from that point on."

I'm not really seeing how "All 30K of em have to be replaced."

You're right. Since Toyota said it, I now have absolute faith in them as a corporation that is 'confident in the production from now on'.
What friggin BS. They're replacing the engines since they would probably be under warranty. Of course they don't want to look bad either.

exactly...how many times has GM said "nothing to see here, move along" and we haven't bought it...not sure why Toyota gets special treatment.

OP, you DID get a discount/trade in deal because of your continued service. They DO track stuff, and know. My father in law has purchased tons of vehicles from one place, and he gets a killer deal without haggling, every time.

Not to mention, if you tell locals about that, it's the best kind of publicity.
